Owning a dance studio isn’t always easy. Among the joy and successes are failures and let downs. It’s easy to get discouraged from time to time.

But… these are often the times that make us better. Rough seas show us who we are and what we’re made of. These are opportunities for growth and learning.

During times of turbulence, we need to pivot. We need to draw courage and inspiration from the rough seas and take these opportunities to reflect and renew.

Great leaders overcome obstacles and triumph in the face of difficult challenges. When things don’t go smoothly, they adjust. They figure it out.

  1. Perhaps it’s time for you to acquire new skills.
  2. Perhaps it’s time for you to create a new policies or enforce the current ones.
  3. Or perhaps it’s time to implement new procedures.

Writing effective policies and procedures is a good first step to leading well and preparing for your future so you can avoid the same troubles. Create smooth sailing ahead by focusing on your goal and creating a path to reach it.

Creating new policies and procedures can be a bit complicated, so remember to keep your goal in mind and focus on one concept at a time. And remember, no matter how turbulent the storm, you’ll feel better when it’s over.
